Hampstead Players The Hampstead Players, a theatrical touring company based in New Hampshire, have been visiting schools throughout the United States for over 15 years and have become the largest touring theatre company of its kind in the country. Paper Bag Players The Paper Bag Players are a company of adults who create and perform original theater for children ages 4 through 9. Their shows combine short plays, rousing songs, freewheeling dances, audience participation, mime, and painting and drawing on stage. Their subject matter reflects a child's everyday experiences--with a dash of the fantastic thrown in! Common household objects, cardboard boxes and brown kraft paper brightened with splashes of poster paint and crayon, become their sets, props and costumes. The Paper Bag Players are based in New York City but in their 43 years history have performed in 37 states and internationally in Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, Israel, Iran, Egypt, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan. The Paper Bag Players have a repertory of twenty-four plays. For each new show they create a Teacher's Guide to enhance their school-day shows and promote classroom discussions and activities. These performances for school children are given at a reduced admission or in some cases for free supported by public, corporate and private contributions. They also do Shakespeare, other classic world masterpieces, develop and produce new playwrights, and train teachers and actors. The Little Red Wagon The Little Red Wagon has been delighting New England audiences for over 35 years. Based out of the University of New Hampshire, the Wagon performs two new shows each summer season. Using song, dance, puppets and audience participation, the Red Wagon is a high energy event for any youth orientation. Although the group has only been in existence since November of 1998, their high energy performances have developed quite a following. Their show consists of multiple pieces comprised of original movement, music and dialogue. The ensemble cast has a constantly evolving repertoire. During any given show the group will perform anywhere from 10 to 18 different pieces. So...each show is always different ! |
